Splitting his time between commercial endeavors as a creative director
and his collaborative work as the photographic team Cope/Arnold. Dustin views
image making as an extension of sculpture, often crafting an image’s content
conceptually, physically and digitally through pre and post production as a part of
his working practice.

 

Originally trained in graphic design, he soon began exploring industrial design
and the plastic arts; incorporating these influences in his work first through fragrance
and cosmetic packaging and later through sculpture, set design and
imagery before entering the world of advertising through art directing campaigns
for brands such as Issey Miyake, Vertu, Apple, Nike Japan, Volkswagen, and Shiseido.

 

With an emphasis on combining traditional art making practices and digital craft
into one space, he has since been featured as an Art Director’s Club “Young Gun”
(top global talent under 30) and was selected by Computer Arts UK as
“The 10 best designers you don’t know about (yet)”. In 2008 he received the
Young Alumni Innovator award from Art Center College of Design for his
unorthodox approach to image-making and brand building and later that same year
was selected as one of Print Magazine’s Top New Visual Artists. His work
has garnished awards from The One Show, I.D. Magazine, Applied Arts,
Type Directors Club of NY , Graphic Design USA, Print, Graphis,
Communication Arts, AIGA, and The Art Directors Club of NY.

 

His editorial contributions include Big Magazine, SOME/THINGS, Tank, Wired, and The New York Times.
